Installation of windows in a wooden house

There are some rules for installing wooden windows in log buildings. A wooden house most often shrinks, and it is better to produce these works a year and a half after the construction. But if you used glued beam, then its value is much smaller, and you can calculate the tolerances, which simplifies the matter. Small gaps may cause deformation of windows. To compensate for shrinkage, you can make an additional box under the window (casing), which is carried out from a thick bar, given the location under the heater. Platbands should be fastened with nails to the casing board, and not to the wall of the log house.

Technology of installation of wooden windows

1. We will prepare the necessary tool for installation of wooden windows in a framework - a hammer, a level, a tape measure, a screwdriver, a mounting foam, a sealing tape and other simple accessories of the joiner.
2. We measure the width of the seam between the window and the window opening.
3. Determine where we will have a seal.
4. The correct installation of wooden windows is not possible without constant monitoring by means of a level. With this simple device, we determine how large the vertical and horizontal deviations, you may have to take a tape of greater thickness to cover the gaps.
5. Mark the marker or pencil on the box where the seal is located.
6. From the end of the seal it is necessary to cut a small piece about 5 cm long before the gasket.
7. Remove the adhesive paper from the adhesive side and attach the tape to the window box.
8. If the other seam is larger in size, as in our example, then you will need to apply a wider ribbon.
9. Make the edge of the tape hang slightly from the box, so you cover the width of the vertical seam.
10. We install wooden windows in the opening with our own hands. We make sure that the tape does not move, and we constantly correct it.
11. We control the window level.
12. Now we note the place of window fasteners.
13. We put labels and drill holes for fasteners.
14. We fix the box to the opening.
15. We carry out the level of control and correct the position of the box with screws.
16. Self-expanding tape swells and fills the space of the tree , ensuring tightness of the seam.
17. Ensure that the sealant is swollen evenly on both sides of the wall.
18. Fill the seam with foam.
19. The main works are finished, it remains to cut off the remains of foam, to install the wooden platbands on the windows and tides.
