Roman style

Wherever the trendy stylists of the idea draw their new collections! History is the biggest "ocean" for inspiration. The Middle Ages, or rather the Romanesque medieval style, is no exception. What kind of imprint did this fantastic time of brave knights impose on modern fashion? Why is the costume of Romanesque style so interesting so far, despite the fact that many people consider him somewhat odd?

Features of the Romanesque style

  1. Layered clothing (on the undershirt they wore another, and more, and more ...).
  2. Contrast colors (at some point a patchwork fashion of "miparti" appeared, the meaning of which was the coloring of clothes in blocks, and then it "migrated" to jest dresses).
  3. Beautiful finish (the edges of the clothes, whether it's the neck or the bottom of the dress, were lined with rich border, furs, fringes and tassels).
  4. An obligatory attribute is a belt that "narrates" about the estate and served as an amulet (it was during the Middle Ages that the "belt of loyalty" was invented).
  5. Cloaks and capes are an important element of the Romanesque style.
  6. Bells, which even beautiful knights were lined with, began to decorate with time only clown costumes.

Simple and free cut, elegant trim, wide sleeves at the bottom, saturated colors - this set could not go unnoticed by fashion designers. Elements of the Romanesque style are reflected in modern clothing, and fans of this trend in fashion is enough.

A little baggy suit, it would seem, is devoid of forms. But this is not so. In the spacious volume of the fabric, a woman's body is hidden, even more sexual than in a frank dress. In addition, "loose" models are incredibly convenient and practical. A simple cut is decorated with decoration in the form of a trim or belt. In this unpretentious outfit the girl looks unusually feminine and "earthly".

The colors of the Romanesque style were divided into two groups only a few centuries ago: a rich gamma for the rich nobility, a gray-brown coloring for the poor only. Now, modern women of fashion are happy to wear a blue dress , and "ordinary" gray. And yet, we specify: Romanesque style in clothes "prefers" green, burgundy, blue colors, terracotta-brown scale.

Fashion designers very often use the ideas of a romance costume, creating evening and wedding dresses. The bride in a white medieval dress is incomparable! It is interesting that the predecessors of the Romanesque period went under the crown in dresses of green, purple, golden colors - such was the wedding fashion of the time.

Romantic style hairstyles

Unfortunately, the hairdress of the Roman period was more often a headdress. Popularity on uncoated hair then disappeared altogether, then appeared. At one time only young girls could walk with their hair loose, decorating the head with wreaths and ribbons. Fashion, which surprises us today, fortunately did not survive: lack of eyebrows and eyelashes, as well as unnaturally high forehead (this effect was achieved by shaving "extra" hair).

What did the contemporaries learn from the Romanesque hairdressing art, creating a medieval style in their image? To shave a forehead it is completely not required to recreate an image of a beauty of those times. Alternative: over the open forehead. And curls and a wreath of flowers - the most common wedding hairstyle, to which the veil is not required. This modest hairstyle is not destined to "grow old," so much to the face of young and tender girls.

Let your style be special, the main thing is that you feel comfortable and the reflection in the mirror is always happy!
