Veneered MDF

MDF boards have been used for the manufacture of furniture facades for already 50 years, so it is almost impossible to imagine a full-fledged furniture set without them. However, recently this stove has undergone slight changes, which made it more attractive and pleasant to use. Instead of a color lacquered film, the surface was covered with veneered plates, which ideally imitate the cut of the tree. Thus, veneered MDF looks much more interesting than its past analog, and the facades from it are more popular.

Production features

Veneered MDF panels are obtained by pressing small chips and bonding elements. All work is carried out at very high temperatures, which allows the components to tightly join, becoming a single whole canvas. To strengthen the ligament, a carbamide resin safe for human health is used. The very process of creating a MDF panel consists of several stages:

After the sheets are aligned and cut to size, the surface is opened with veneer. Sheets of natural veneer are superimposed on glued plates, and this can be done using different technologies (transverse, longitudinal gluing, sticking in the form of fish bone, etc.). After gluing the plates are dried under the press, after which the surface is ground and covered with a special varnish. To speed up the process, a heating press for drying is sometimes used, which allows for a short period of time to paste the veneered sheet onto a large number of MDF plates. If the surface of the plate is rough, then vacuum bonding is used, but its cost is slightly more expensive.

The finished panel is polished along and across, after which the surface is ironed with a hot roller and opened with paint and varnish or wax. The last step is to ensure that the delicate texture of the veneer is not destroyed with regular physical contact.

The lineup

Today in the range of shops you can find the following products, opened with a thin layer of veneer:

  1. Veneered facades of MDF. They are often used to make furniture in the kitchen , hall and bedroom. Products with such facades have a pleasant texture, reminiscent of natural wood. Such furniture facades outwardly do not differ from the whole solid wood, but their cost is several times lower. The most popular are the facades with veneer from oak, beech, ebony, walnut, teak, wenge and zebrano.
  2. Veneered plinth made of MDF. According to the price policy is an intermediate option between the plastic model and the product from the whole solid wood. However, outwardly such a plinth floor is absolutely not different from a wooden one. Products with a veneer surface are used to decorate the floor from laminate and parquet, so they can be classified as a premium skirting board.
  3. MDF veneered doors. The upper part of these doors is covered with a very thin layer of veneer, which has a pleasant texture and original natural pattern. Above the veneer is opened with varnish, which gives the product a unique shine and protects its penetration of moisture inside. Such models can be installed in the interior passageways, but here it is better not to use them as entrance doors.

In addition to the listed products from veneered MDF, arches, platbands and wall panels are made.
