How to choose the right mirror?

When choosing a mirror, you need to remember the increased humidity in the bathroom. Therefore, it is recommended to use the following methods:

1. Treat the reverse surface of the mirror with a protective layer. Before attaching to the wall, the surface of the mirror must be re-degreased and apply a moisture-resistant varnish or paint. It is convenient to use a spray can with nitro-enamel.
2. The back side of the mirror can be covered with dense polyethylene. It is glued to the mirror with liquid nails or special glue, after which it can be planted on cement.
3. The best option - a mirror with heating. Manufacturers use small heating mats, powered by electricity or part of the "warm floor" and film.
4. Do not forget to ventilate the room, use ventilation.

If you want the mirror to serve for a long time, then stop on the mirror using silver. But be prepared to pay a large sum for it. The variant is cheaper, for example, from aluminum, it will serve much less, but it is not expensive either.

Types of mirrors for bathrooms

As mentioned above, the mirror is not only an element of decor, but also an important functional attribute. It can combine in itself and backlight, and a place for storing small accessories, or both. But about this below.

1. Mirror with a shelf for the bathroom . Shelves perform an important functional role - they can put a jar with toothbrushes, creams, hair conditioners and other pleasant trifles. The shelves can be made of the same material as the rim of the mirror (metal, plastic, wood), or be made of glass. 2. Mirror with illumination . The light source of the mirror should be bright, but at the same time it does not dazzle. Rectangular mirror can be equipped with halogen lamps, and a wide panoramic mirror can be decorated with hidden illumination. 3. Mirror with a curbstone . This can already be called a full bathroom furniture. A mirror with a curbstone is very convenient in terms of the fact that you do not need to select separately and a cabinet and a mirror. The washbasin is often mounted in the bedside table, and the pipes and communications are hidden inside the cabinet.

Depending on what style the bathroom is made in, you need to select the appropriate accessories. In a bath in the classical style, a mirror with a straight frame or a modest carved pattern will do. A more modern and free style involves mirrors without a frame, when the edges of the glass are engraved in the form of inscriptions or ornament. The wooden frame is suitable for country and Provence styles, and the Art Nouveau style completely rejects all kinds of roundness and bends.
