Strict style

Strict style, dress code, business wardrobe - these concepts today, one way or another, have a direct relation to almost every working woman or even just an active woman. And it's not so important - you manage your own company, you work as a sales representative, or you just have to go out "to people", a strict style of clothes is something without which your wardrobe will not be complete.

A strict style of clothing for women began to form in the XIX century, when women increasingly began to seek the right to receive education on an equal footing with a strong gender, and later - to engage in science and enter the service. The strict style of a business woman is based on the English style, and therefore, when analyzing its characteristics, it is easy enough to notice the clearly sticking "English ears" - this is the prevalence of fitted jackets, and the use of classical fabrics (wool, tweed, cotton), and easily recognizable classical monotony cut.

Although it would be a mistake to consider that, adhering to the business style in clothes, a woman is doomed to look like a "blue stocking". So, what is permissible, and what should be avoided if you have chosen a strict office style for yourself?

Good advice

  1. It is necessary to remember: the higher the business status - the more rigorous approach to the selection of office clothing.
  2. The basis of the business wardrobe is a classic two-piece suit. The jacket in it is preferable to the fitted silhouette to the middle of the thigh. The style of the skirt can vary - straight, pencil, with a slit or a pleated skirt, but at the same time, the length is conservative - just a bit beyond the knee. Pants straight, to the middle of the heel. If you have a flared model, the extension should start from the hip line. Even shorts are allowed, but, again, classic, to the knee.
  3. If you want to emphasize your femininity, without going beyond the established limits, your option is dresses of a strict style. It can be a dress-case with a sleeve, or without a sleeve, but in combination with a jacket, or an office sarafan.
  4. Shoes for business style is preferable on a low, stable heel, black or brown, closed, with a matte texture.
  5. Strict style of clothing does not allow the use of jeans or synthetic fabrics, bright, screaming colors, deep decollete and mini and maxi-skirts, shoes with a hairpin or lacquered.
  6. To revive the strict image will help bright accents - a neck scarf, an original strap, a stylish bag, jewelry made of precious metals or stones. The main rule here is not to go too far with their number, just one or two elements.
