Tourism is now the main source of income for the kibbutz, as in the immediate vicinity of the Qumran Reserve, in the caves of which were found the ancient scrolls of the Dead Sea.

Beach Kalia, like other beaches of the Dead Sea, are located below sea level, so you have to overcome a small descent. It should be remembered that in this part of the Dead Sea there are high enough waves.

Israel actively develops tourism and infrastructure around this unique natural landmark, because the flow of tourists arriving on the salt sea to improve health is almost half of the total flow of tourists to the country. The beach of Kalia is a small but fully equipped place for relaxation with sun beds, umbrellas from the sun, lifeguard towers, mini-bars and flowering bushes along the perimeter. How to get there?

To get to the beach of Kalia can be easily by car, since public transportation there goes not often. From large cities it is possible to arrive on tourist buses of small capacity which daily type groups of tourists.
