Last spring, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge became guests of India. They visited the sights of the country and got acquainted with the customs and traditions of India for two weeks. Apparently, such pastime was not in vain, and a few weeks ago on the site of Buckingham Palace there was an announcement that 2017 would become the "Year of Indian Culture". In honor of this yesterday in the palace of Elizabeth II was organized a reception for the outstanding personalities of India: actors, athletes, scientists and many others.

Valuable exhibits, dances and Indian cuisine

Meet honorary guests at Buckingham Palace, was entrusted to Keith Middleton and Prince William. In order for the reception to be organized at the highest level, it was divided into several parts. In the first part, by the way, it was accompanied by a buffet table, the Indians were invited to talk with the hosts of the reception and tell a little about themselves and their activities. In addition to Kate and William with celebrities came to talk to Elizabeth II, who chose from drinks a glass of water.

After that, all went to examine the exhibits, which were somehow connected with India and were stored in Buckingham Palace. Particular attention of all present was attracted by a handmade shawl, which was presented by Mahatma Gandhi to the wedding of Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. Next to her lay a note written by a politician and addressed to the married:

"Honeymooners for memory. Let this gift bring you a long and successful life in the service of your people. "

After that, the gathered were invited to dinner. On the tables you could see dishes of Indian cuisine, which were cooked by the chefs of the royal family and employees of the restaurant Veeraswamy. Among the dishes, guests were offered salmon croquettes, a panier with spicy herbs, tandoori shrimps, bundi with chocolate and much more.

Speaking about the entertaining part of the event, the guests were given a festive concert with Indian dances and songs. At the end of the evening, a laser show was arranged on the facade of the building, where various pictures related to the history, life and culture of the peoples of India were projected.
