After finishing the repair work and completing all the decorations, it's very pleasant to contemplate your updated bathroom. But it happens that a very beautiful externally bath does not justify your expectations in practice. Today, the market offers us a huge selection of different types of baths, so it's not worth hurrying with your "own" selection.
Types and sizes of bathtubs
Conventionally, we can distinguish the types of baths according to several criteria:
- in shape (traditional, angular);
- in size (small, medium, large);
- by material of manufacture (steel, cast-iron, acrylic).
For small bathrooms, as a rule, a small bath is also selected. Such models are produced in two sizes: 120x70 (saves space, but it's easy to lie down and will not relax) and 130x70 (the model is very popular, it is imported to order). Often today, for the sake of economy, an angular model is installed. Types of corner baths differ only in the material of manufacture, but their dimensions are approximately the same and not more than 150 cm in length.
The most popular medium types and sizes are 140 cm or 150 cm in length with a width of 70 cm. Models with a length of 140 cm are used for non-standard projects, but the second variant is more widespread than others and can have different widths and shapes. Large baths have a length of 170 cm or 185 cm, are considered the most comfortable and suitable for modern layouts in apartments.
Types of acrylic bathtubs
This bath has a number of advantages over other models. It is from such material that you can make absolutely any shape, while the weight of such a bath is less. There are several types of forms of acrylic baths: rectangular, angular, semicircular. As for the material itself, there are several options. There are models of 100% cast acrylic (the most durable and durable), of combined plastic and extrusion acrylic. In addition, acrylic allows you to produce surfaces not only in white, you can choose the right color and shade at your own discretion.
Types of cast iron baths
It is this option that will last you for a really long time, if not forever. It's enough just to look after the enamel properly and there will not be any problems. There are models with different thicknesses of enamel. The thicker this layer, the more aesthetic the look has a bath. Modern enamels are glossy and matte, they are applied successively layer by layer. As for the forms, the choice here is not so great. Cast iron is difficult to process and produce complex shapes it will not be possible, but the water cools down very slowly and very simply, since there simply is no pores in the enamel and the dirt does not accumulate there.
