Seats in the train

Often, the townsfolk believe that sedentary cars (long-distance or long-distance) and common are the same thing that is a delusion. Common cars are ordinary seat cars , where seats are arranged on the lower shelves, that is, up to three passengers can sit on one shelf. If you consider this journey in terms of comfort, then riding three on a shelf - is extremely tedious. Of course, sometimes good conductors are allowed to occupy places on the upper shelves, but often there are "lying down" mattresses, bedding or luggage.

Seated cars

It is difficult for a non-specialist to distinguish a sedentary car from a compartment, a reserved seat or a general one. However, in the cabin it becomes clear what a sedentary car looks like and what are its differences from other types of cars. The layout of the seats in the sitting car of the train resembles the bus room: on both sides of the passage there are twin seats. They are comfortable enough, soft, and they can be thrown back so that in a half-lying position, one or two doze off for an hour or two.

It is worth noting that when buying railway tickets on the Internet you can make a mistake with choosing a place, since the laid out plan of a sedentary car does not always correspond to reality. The fact is that the modifications of cars can be different. However, the numbering of seats in a sitting car is always the same: the windows have odd places, the pass - even. If you are among the passengers who like several times during the trip to walk and stretch their legs, then, in order not to disturb a neighbor, it is better to purchase tickets for even seats.

Baggage is convenient to transport on special shelves, which are placed along the rows of seats. According to the standards set by RZD, passengers can carry up to 36 kilograms of luggage in the form of hand luggage.

In most cars on the backs of the seats there are folding plastic shelves, which serve to the sitting passengers at the rear with convenient tables for eating. In this case, the tables are always in a horizontal position, regardless of the position of the chair. In the cars, where the seats are located opposite each other, there are of course no such tables.

Seated cars are divided into classes: economy (68 or 63 seats), business class (43 seats) and first class (10 seats).

Additional Amenities

Like in any other type of wagon, there are toilets in the sedentary cars. And in new cars it is a biotoilets, which allows not to close them during stops and passage of sanitary zones. In the toilet should be the following items: toilet paper, soap, paper towels, mirror. In addition, there is a service compartment of conductors in the car, two tambours at both ends of the car.

There is an opinion that in sedentary cars, as in common or reserved seats, there can often be conflicts between passengers, because the public is quite "heterogeneous". Believe me, in such cars, mostly middle-class business people go, whose goal is to reach their destination quickly, comfortably and without complications, so you should not worry. In addition, there are always representatives of the traffic police on the train, so any conflicts are immediately stopped.

If on the road you will spend several hours, then traveling in a sitting car will be quite comfortable. But remember, to spend eight or ten or more hours in such a car is very difficult. What can we say about the train with young children who can not sit for ten minutes in one place! But in the car you are not alone, and with the opinion of other passengers will have to be considered. In such cases, it is better to buy tickets to compartment cars, especially since the difference in price will not be so significant.
