Stairs to the second floor in a private house

If you plan to build your own house, and even with several floors, you inevitably have to determine which type of stairs to the second floor to use in a private house. After all, this design takes up a lot of space, and its design will certainly catch sight of all visitors to your future estate.

Types of stairs in a private house

Variants of stairs for a private house can differ in design, the materials of which they are made, the number of steps and much more, but, basically, distinguish ladders in the form that they have. Based on this parameter, three types can be distinguished: screw, march and ladder on the bolts.

A spiral staircase in a private house is used when you want to save a maximum of space on the lower floor or when the opening in the upper one for the stairs is not too large. Such stairs look beautiful and dynamic, but they are not very convenient, because the stairs in them are quite steep and narrow. Such ladders are recommended for those houses where there are no small children and where on the second floor it is necessary to rise not too often during the day. The spiral staircase consists of a pillar, around which the steps are fixed. They have a trapezoidal shape with the narrowest end at the support and gradually expand to the opposite edge, which can rest against the wall or be free.

Marching stairs are the most common option. They consist of small spans (marches) with a length of 3 to 15 steps in each (most often there are marches in 10-11 levels) as well as areas between them. If the climb is laid in one march, then the ladder is straight, if not, then it bends at a certain angle. March staircases are convenient because it is easy for them to climb and descend often, which is actual, for example, if it is a staircase to the attic in a private house where a kitchen or a toilet is equipped. The disadvantage of this design is that it occupies a large space.

The third type - the stairs on the bolts - looks the most modern, airy and dynamic. It is a step, which on one side is screwed into the wall on a bolt (bolt), and the other edge is freely suspended in the air without any support. Sometimes as a support for the free edge can act steel rods, descending from the ceiling. Thanks to this principle, the design is very transparent, so do not worry about lighting the stairs in a private house. Also, these stairs do not steal space near the lower floor and do not clutter up space. Many people think that such stairs are not strong enough and solid, but this is not so.

Materials for stairs in a private house

The choice of a suitable material for the execution of the ladder depends, first of all, on the characteristics of its design, and secondly, on the overall style of the room. Most often for stairs, wood, stone or metal is used.

Wooden staircases in a private house perfectly fit into any style, they can be beautifully and richly decorated with carvings. They are quite cheap, durable and easy to perform. The tree is also environmentally friendly material, which is often important.

Metal staircases in a private house are also widespread. If you are looking for a variant for a house in a modern style, then you can stop on the design in the color of shiny, chrome-plated metal. But for more classical interiors fit forged staircases in private homes. They look very elegant and airy.

Stone is usually used in combination with other materials as a way of finishing stair steps. The most beautiful are the variants of granite or quartzite. Such steps can serve in their original form for several hundred years. Now, for the finishing of stairs, an artificial stone is also widely used.
