Ceiling frame for stretch ceilings

Ceiling frame for stretch ceilings - this is, properly speaking, a frame from the profile. Its function is to fix and evenly stretch the ceiling material (fabric, PVC film).

Types of baguettes for stretch ceilings

Profiles (baguettes) are available in several configurations, and are divided into harpoon, clip and staple.

Harpoon profile is used most often when installing film ceilings. Its name was received because of the similarity of the configuration with the fishing harpoon. It should be noted that harpoon baguettes for stretch ceilings can be both ceiling and wall. As a rule, wall baguettes are used in case when it is planned to install a built-in spotlight on the suspended ceiling.

For fabric stretch ceilings, either staple or clip-on moldings are used. In the first variant, the web is inserted into the baguette connector and secured by a glazing bead by way of wedging. In the second variant, the pull-on fabric with a spatula inserts into the slot of the tube-clips. Clip-like baguettes, like harpoon-type baguettes, can also be ceiling or wall (the profiles are fastened either to the ceiling or to the wall, respectively).

But according to the material of manufacture, the baguettes for stretch ceilings can be divided into aluminum and plastic. Baguettes of harpoon and glacial type can be both aluminum and plastic, but clip-like baguettes, like a more modern design, are made only of extra strong plastic (or rather, PVC). Both aluminum baguettes and PVC baguettes for stretch ceilings have similar performance indicators. That's only the frame structure of the plastic profile is much lighter than aluminum, and the price index plays a role (plastic moldings are cheaper than aluminum ones).

Another indicator by which the baguettes are divided into species is the visibility or invisibility of the profile below the edge of the installed stretch ceiling fabric. It is the invisible baguettes for stretch ceilings that allow you to beat the curved sections of the ceiling.

For the installation of stretch ceilings, the final stage is the installation of decorative plastic baguettes simulating stucco molding or other materials. They are simply glued to the wall, but in no case to the very fabric of the stretcher.

Hanging suspended ceilings

For a new type of stretch ceilings, so-called soaring, a specific profile design (baguette) is used, which allows the entire frame frame (carcass) to be hidden behind the stretched fabric, plus LED lighting. Thus, it seems that the ceiling simply hangs (hovers) in the air, absolutely not touching the walls.
