Usefulness, productivity and excellent operational characteristics of drywall many builders have long appreciated. It is so convenient and practical that even a beginner can easily make a wall of gypsum board with his own hands, not referring to a repair team.
How to make a wall from gypsum board?
For this design, you will need the following inventory:
- screwdriver;
- level;
- "Bulgarian" or scissors for metal;
- tape measure and angle ruler;
- plumb bob;
- plane;
- a knife for working with plasterboard;
- sheets of plasterboard;
- profiles (CD and UD), as well as connecting elements.
Having located in a convenient place the necessary inventory, we will consider how to build a wall from gypsum board.
- We will measure the necessary length of the guide profile, cut it with screws or dowels, depending on what flooring you have, mount it along the assigned line on the floor .
- Applying the floor profile as a base, we make the installation, it is important that all profiles are extremely vertical, guiding the profile to the wall. If you have walls from a gas block or a foam block, it is better to use dowels that need to be fixed at intervals of thirty (forty) centimeters. In those parts where joints are formed, we fasten them together with small screws, so-called bedbugs or fleas. The guide profile must be installed along the entire length of the intended wall.
- We proceed to assembly of vertical rack-mount profiles and it is best to start with doorways, so it will be unmistakable. Trim the profile to the required parameters and insert it into the guide. The width of your doorway at the top and bottom should be very close, otherwise there will be a problem when installing joinery. We measure with the help of a level the vertical and horizontal orientation of the installed guide profiles.
- When you have finished with the installation of profiles, you should lay all the desired wiring, through a special opening cut by the manufacturer.
- Now, it's the turn of the drywall itself. If you do not have professional tools for pruning, then you can use a simple profile, as a ruler, and a drywall knife. Spend several times in one place, and the material easily breaks in the opposite direction, it remains only to cut the second part of the cardboard so that it does not tear. Align the cut piece of planer with the inclined blade, if there is a need. When fastening the first sheet, do not forget to put the stand to ensure a small gap from the floor.
- We mount the sheet to the guide racks, applying a step, about fifteen centimeters. Ideally bolted screws, should be beaten, a bit drowned deep into the sheet, it's important not to overdo it so that the drywall does not crumble or break. When installing each sheet, check it by level, focusing on the rack profiles.
