This weekend, the life of the kings of Sweden was marked by an important event - the christening of the son of Prince Carl Philipp and Princess Sophia. Young Alexander is now 4 months old, but in Sweden he is considered the most popular child of modern times. Parents of the young heir to the throne are not in a hurry to suppress the curiosity of their subjects to their son, and with an enviable regularity they publish photo sessions with the baby.
The christenings passed in a quiet family circle
Despite the fact that Prince Karl Philip and Princess Sophia adore being photographed, only the selected reporters were called to the christening of their first-born. By the way, they were allowed to shoot only certain moments, but not all of the sacrament.
The christenings were held on 9 September in the small chapel of the Drottningholm residence. The ceremony was performed by Archbishop Antje Jakelin. The godfathers were Alexander's uncle and the son of Princess Christina Victor Magnuson, as well as close friends of Sofia and Karl Philippe Kaiza Larsson and Oke Hansson. There were several godmothers, too. They were Crown Princess Victoria and Lina Freud, Aunt Little Alexander.
Among the guests photographers were able to capture King Charles Gustav XVI with his wife Sylvia, Crown Princess Victoria with her husband and children, as well as Chris O'Neil with Princess Madeleine. Despite the fact that only the chosen were invited to the sacrament, all those who wished could also enjoy the christening of Prince Alexander, because they were broadcast on many TV channels in Sweden. The ceremony began at 11 o'clock in the morning and passed by all the rules: the heir was dipped in a font with water from the spring of the island of Öland, shaved hair, etc. After the sacrament Princess Sofia told the press that soon on the site of the royal family will publish photos from this significant event, which can be safely attributed to another photo shoot with a young prince.

Alexander is the only child of Karl Philipp and Sophia
In autumn 2015, the royal monarchs of Sweden announced that Princess Sophia was in the position. Alexander was born in April 2016 and today is the only child of Prince Charles Philip and his wife. The little prince is the fifth grandson of the ruling royal couple of Sweden.
