Yes, and the hustle and bustle in all the famous resorts today a lot, so more people are eager to spend vacations in other countries. One of them is the Republic of Mauritius, located on an island in the Indian Ocean, near Madagascar. Due to its volcanic origin, this island is pleased with the diversity of the landscape, and the ocean currents provide a moderate climate, in which the sun does not scorch the skin, but gently warms. Mauritius is increasingly in demand among tourists, and we will now consider one of the first questions that arise from those who are going to Mauritius - whether a visa is needed.
Tourist trip
A visa for Mauritius is not required for Russians, if it is a question of a tourist trip for a period not exceeding 180 days. The state is always happy guests, so the authorities tried to simplify as much as possible the procedure for entering the country. But, of course, entry into another country in any case requires compliance with certain rules. Most of the guests go on a tour, in which case you will be asked to show the following documents when crossing the border:
- the international passport ;
- an extract from the bank to confirm the solvency: the amount on your account should be sufficient to have for each day of stay 100 dollars (virtually no one looks this statement, just ask if you have a bank card);
- tourist voucher (it is issued by the travel company);
- return ticket.
In addition, you will be asked to fill out a short questionnaire. In the same way, already at the entrance, a visa is issued to Mauritius for both Ukrainians and residents of the CIS countries. However, all should pay attention to the documents: be sure to put a signature on your passport if you have not done so before, and make sure that you still have at least one clean page for seals, and the expiry date of the passport was at least six months longer than the departure date from Mauritius . Payment for the visa - 20 dollars - is carried out at the exit from the republic.
As for the children, they do not need a visa for Mauritius, and the requirements are the same as in most other countries:
- a child over 14 years of age must have their own passport;
- a photograph of a child from 6 to 14 years old must be pasted into the parent's passport;
- if a child visits the country with one of the parents or without parents, and with the accompanying person, you must show permission to travel from the parents. The permit must be notarized.
Business trip
In some cases, a visa is required for Mauritius. This applies primarily to business travel. A businessman can stay in Mauritius for no more than 90 in a row, and in general for a year the total duration of business visits is limited to four months. For a business trip, a visa can be obtained already at the entrance to the country: here it will be necessary not only to show a passport and return tickets, but also carefully fill out a questionnaire to explain who you are, what you are doing and for what purpose you have arrived, and if possible show documents, confirming the purpose of the trip. On the bank statement this time will look carefully. To be sure that you will be able to enter Mauritius, it is better to take care of the visa in advance: it can be obtained at the consulate.
Free tourism
To those who visit the country without a specific goal and without a voucher, there is always the greatest number of questions. Therefore, if you decide to relax in Mauritius without the mediation of a tour operator, it is better to get a visa in advance at the consulate. You will need a passport and tickets in both directions, all the same confirmation of solvency, as well as either booking a hotel room or an invitation from a resident of Mauritius.
