Statics - growing from seeds at home

The statue flower is very decorative. It is often used to decorate flower beds, flower beds and front gardens. This plant stands for a long time in cutting, and as a dried flower it is simply incomparable, as it does not crumble and even retains its color (yellow, purple, coral, crimson, red, etc.). Statica has other names - kermek , immortelle, Tatar white lemongrass or limoneum. But no matter how it was called, this flower is beautiful and fragrant - so why not plant it on your plot or at home?

How to sow the seed for seedlings?

First, determine the plant variety. The most popular among them were and remain "Bondewell", "Crimean mixture" and "Suvorov." Do not be surprised when you see the seeds of this flower - they are in the fruit and look dense enough. You do not need to clean them, as well as scarifying. Plant a statue on seedlings in the spring, usually in late March or early April. The requirements for the land are as follows: it must be loose and light, for which in the purchased soil, river sand is sometimes added. In this case, the soil mixture should be decontaminated before planting: pour a solution of potassium permanganate or bake in the oven.

Seedlings can be planted in peat cups or in small, but high pots. It is necessary to have good drainage and, of course, a drain hole. Moisten the ground before planting, and then put the seeds on top and sprinkle a little earth.

For faster germination, the flower growers use the method of the greenhouse: cover the glasses with glass or plastic wrap. Daily it is necessary to ventilate these mini-greenhouses. Shoots appear on average for 2 weeks.

As a rule, the statue is better not to dive - it does not tolerate this process very well. That is why it is better to initially use high-capacity containers for seedlings, since the plant has a powerful vertical root. Another option - picking immediately after the appearance of seedlings, when the root system is still compact. Transplant to a permanent site occurs in May - from recurrent nocturnal frosts, the plant is better protected.

Place a landing for a warm and bright - even direct sunlight statics are not contraindicated. The south window sill, glazed loggia or the most lit place on the site will be the best choice. But in the shade the plant is expected to have problems - flowers and stems grow smaller, grow poorly, and leaves can rot.

Statics - features of cultivation

In warm regions the statue is grown as a perennial plant, and where winters are too severe - as an annual. It is also possible to grow a statue from seeds at home, in a conventional flowerpot on a window sill.

The statue blossoms long enough - almost all summer, beginning in June. And that the flowers were large, plants should be planted with a sufficient (at least 30 cm) interval between the bush.

As for flower care, traditionally it is watering, loosening the soil, applying fertilizers and weeding weeds. Watering the statue should be moderate - it does not tolerate copious and frequent watering. Do this only as the soil dries out, while trying not to let water get on the leaves or flowers of the plant. After each watering, loosen the soil - the statue likes it when the soil has a large air permeability.

If you want this decorative plant to please you with its magnificent flowering, you should know what to feed the statue. For this purpose, use a complex mineral fertilizer in the seedling stage, and then potassium-phosphorus fertilizer during the flowering period. Feed the flower only after watering, while doing fertilizing should not be abundant.
