Whey whey as a fertilizer

In order for your garden crops to grow quickly, develop well and abundantly bear fruit, in the soil under them you need to regularly make fertilizer. There are several ways for this:

Substances for fertilizing plants are used very differently - from mineral fertilizers to folk remedies such as infusions and decoctions of grasses, sawdust and ash, manure, compost and others. Very popular as a fertilizer and ordinary whey, remaining from the sour milk. For garden works, both home whey and that sold in shops and supermarkets are suitable.

And now let's find out how useful whey for plants and how to use it in the garden.

What is good about whey for plants?

We all know about the use of whey in both cooking and medicine. In this liquid, remaining after the sour milk, contains very valuable proteins, milk sugar (lactose), vitamins and mineral elements. Due to this, this product is extremely important for the formation of the right microflora of the human intestine. But not only people can use serum - plants also like to "eat" its delicious and healthy ingredients.

In addition to potassium, phosphorus and nitrogen, so necessary for each culture, plants also need amino acids. It is they who receive the root system when fertilizing with milk whey.

In addition to fertilizing the soil, the benefits of whey are still in this. Its constituent parts have a depressing effect on the pathogenic microflora, which makes the serum very good in the prevention of fungal diseases. First of all, it is late blight and powdery mildew - the most terrible enemies of a tomato and many other garden plants grown in the middle lane.

Milk whey is well influenced by tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, patissons, and also on roses, so it can be used not only for the garden, but also for feeding the plants of the front garden.

They make from milk whey even traps for insects - pests of the garden. To do this, the glass jar is filled with a bait by one third and suspended from the tree crown at night. As a result of such manipulations in the morning you will find in the container a lot of moths and caterpillars, drowned in the serum - this is the moth, and the leaf-litter is the most active and harmful insects.

However, do not overdo the watering of plants with a solution of whey: its sour-fat structure, when applied abundantly, changes the acid-alkaline balance of the soil, and this should not be allowed. In addition, pay attention to the composition of the nutrient solution of the fertilizer: as a rule, milk whey is never used in a "pure" form. For the purpose of fertilization, it is usually diluted in a ratio of 1:10 with water at room temperature, and to water on the leaves use a proportion of 1: 3.

If you use whey for foliar dressings, then it is recommended to add a little laundry soap rubbed onto a large grater. This will ensure the best adhesion of the serum to the leaves of plants, so that it will last longer, and act - even more effectively. You can water not only the leaves of plants themselves, but also mulch under them.

Often, in a solution of serum and add the usual pharmacy iodine. Just 10 drops of this substance will have a beneficial antimicrobial effect and will make your plants less attractive to pests, as before.
