This includes cellulose and KMC glue used for binding, as well as silk fibers and dyes, which makes it possible to create an attractive and pleasant coating, both in appearance and in touch. You see that the composition - this substance is much like a paper wallpaper, but by the way it is applied to a wall, working with liquid wallpaper is more like plastering walls.
Liquid wallpaper - what is it?
What we usually need for plastering work - trowel, grater, spatula, level, bucket and dry mix. The same tools are required for the master who deals with liquid wallpaper . But if the plastered surface is a dull homogeneous color on the wall, in our case it is possible to create at home various applications or even real pictures.
The standard package for liquid wallpaper consists of the following main components: dry KMS glue, fillers (colored granules or powders) that perform decorative functions, and base fibers (cellulose and silk). All these components can be packaged in separate packages or already mixed together. Before adding water to the composition, it is necessary to swirl the mixture, making sure that no lumps remain.
Briefly about applying liquid wallpaper
No harmful constituents in this material are present, so stir the composition with your hands. Experienced masters say that the mixer can even damage long fibers, which does not have a good effect on the appearance of the treated surface. To keep the glue soft, it is advisable to soak the mixture soaked in water for 6-12 hours. Mix material so much that it is enough for the entire wall, it often happens that the transitions after drying are visible. Therefore, it is better to prepare the solution a little with a margin. If the wall is well prepared and level, then a kilogram of the mixture is enough for 3-4 m² of surface.
Now let's talk about how to apply liquid wallpaper, especially since it's not difficult to do it yourself. The right portion of the material with hands or a spatula is applied to the surface and rubbed against the wall. The thickness of the layer should not exceed 3 mm. Although it is better to read the instructions, depending on the composition, sometimes the requirements may be slightly different. After you process approximately 1 m² of the wall, wet the grater in the water and level the surface, removing all the furrows or lumps.
If you have some material left, it is better not to throw it away. It is useful for repairing a damaged area. Pack a damp solution in a tight plastic bag, and in this form it will be perfectly preserved for several weeks. To give such a wallpaper to the fortress, some masters add to their composition a little colorless water-soluble acrylic lacquer. But still in a humid room (kitchen, bathroom) it is better to use special water-resistant compounds, work with which practically does not differ from what was told above.
