1. Wall of the abbey of Margam, Wales

It is about 800 years old and now this wall is located on the territory of a large metallurgical plant Port Talbot. As you can see in the photo, it is surrounded by a fence and is held by a number of brick buttresses (a vertical structure that serves as a support). By the way, it's all because of the ancient curse. The story goes that when King Henry VIII dissolved monasteries in the 16th century, one of the local Cistercian monks evicted from this abbey informed the new owners that they should in no case touch these buttresses. Otherwise, if the wall falls, then the entire city will cease to exist. Since then, the townspeople struggled to protect the wall, even when a huge steel plant was built around it. Who knows if this is true, but no one dares to check it. It is rumored that at night one can see the ghost of a monk walking about the territory of the former abbey and looking after the wall.

2. Alloa Tower, Scotland

On the north bank of the River Fort is the town of Alloa. Previously, it had many buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries, but after a century they were considered slums, and as a result, they were demolished. Almost the only pearl of ancient architecture - this medieval tower, built in the distant 16th century. Her, together with a huge mansion, which was not preserved, was built by Count John Erskine. And all this was built from the ruins of the former abbey. It is said that the church did not approve of such a construction, and the chief priest of Kambuskent was so angry at Erskine that as a result his "wishes" changed the destinies of many of its members. The most terrible thing is that the priest once in anger said: "That your children will never see what you have built." And what do you think? The three heirs of Erskine were born blind. In addition, the words of the priest influenced the very fate of the estate - in 1800 it burned down. It is rumored that the curse was lifted only after the flowers grew on the burnt roof after years, in 1820, whence did not come.

3. Cemetery of those who built the pyramids, Egypt

Here she arrived with two young sons and a monk, who was often in a state of intoxication. One Christmas morning she went to the village to work and did not even suspect that this day would forever change her life. Arriving home, the woman saw the lifeless bodies of sons, whom the monk killed. According to another version, for dinner she was served dishes from the dismembered bodies of her children. In horror, Jeanne left the castle, damning this place and wishing that no living thing could live around the infernal castle. To this day near Rocca Sparviera no birds sing.

5. Koh Hinham Island, Thailand

It is also called the "island of black stones". It is an uninhabited area, located on the very shores of an exotic island. And the mystical list ends with a ghost town, a city of gold diggers. It is believed that in 1859 on its territory William S. Bodie discovered a gold mine. True, the man himself died shortly after the blizzard. After a while people founded a settlement here, which they called his name. You will not believe it, but in all its history, Bodi's mines brought gold worth $ 34 million. At the end of the 19th century, the township's population was already 10,000. But in 1950 Bodi became a ghost, and in 1962 - the State National Park, which annually visit 200 000 tourists.

What caused the devastation of this area? In the period of gold rush in Bodi, lawlessness and crime flourished. And in 1917 the railway branch leading to Bodi was dismantled. But after the business center burned down in 1932, it became clear that this city would not be the same. Gradually, people began to leave here, leaving their homes.

Today, there are daily guided tours, but it is strictly forbidden to take any things from old houses. It's not just that it's a relic. They say that ghosts live in this city, who are fiercely guarding everything that they once had to abandon. So, if you do not want to deal with the other world, it's better not to touch anything.
