Arbor from pallets own hands

In your summer cottage there is not enough cozy arbor , where you can spend time with your family on a summer evening? In this case, you can use improvised materials for the organization of this simple building. The course can go to old boards, plywood or metal slate. Very interesting options are obtained when using ordinary pallets. The used pallets can be bought inexpensively on the market or ask the acquaintances of the summer residents - they probably have a couple of unneeded pallets in stock. But keep in mind that in order to make a pavilion from pallets with your own hands, a large amount of material will be required, since this structure is quite large.

How to make a pavilion from pallets with your own hands?

For the construction of a gazebo you will need such materials and tools:

• standard pallets (quantity depends on the size of the arbor);
• self-tapping screws and drill bit;
• a primer for wood ;
• sheet of polycarbonate;
• stain or paint;
• brush;
• belt or vibrating sanding machine.

After everything is collected, you can start working. Construction will be carried out in several stages:

1. Preparation . First, clean the pallets from plaque and dirt. To ensure that the wood is smooth and pleasant to the touch, it is recommended to sand it with a grinder. To do this, you can use a medium-grained sandpaper (130-210 K). After that, the material needs to be treated with a special primer for outdoor work, which will protect the wood from rotting. The last stage of the preparation of pallets - the opening of their paint or stain.
2. Installation of the base . The foundation on screw piles is considered the most solid. It will be based on a steel pipe with blades and a long end. Such a foundation is ideal for clay soil and in the future it will not hurt rain and wind.

For the lower strapping, it is better to use a wooden beam, which is fixed with special screws. After installing them, you need to install vertical racks that will hold the entire structure. From above all supports should be connected more accurately by a strapping.

On the floor lay a terraced board with a ribbed texture.

3. Fastening pallets . Fill the space between the supports with pallets. Fasten them by screwing them to the posts with self-tapping screws. In this case, the pallets will be both walls and ceiling.
4. Roof construction . Cover the roof with a sheet of polycarbonate. It is light, moisture resistant and does not require additional care.
