Light in the interior

Light in the interior of the apartment is always central, because it is thanks to the light that we are playing around space and details of the interior, giving our dwelling a special cosiness and atmosphere. However, the light in the design, if used improperly, can play a cruel joke: highlight the shortcomings of the walls and ceiling, visually reduce the space and make it "pressuring". To avoid such inconveniences, you need to understand the main types of decorative lighting, and the ways of using them.

So, there are 3 types of lighting: basic, working and accenting.

The main lighting is used to create visibility within the space at all. Such lighting reflects off the walls and ceiling and "covers" the maximum area of the room. The design using the basic light includes several rules:

  1. Light should not be "flat" (like what is used in offices). Such a light goes by a fixed beam, onto a certain object, and does not illuminate the interior as a whole.
  2. The light should not be white, otherwise it literally destroys the home. Let it be a yellowish, warm, not cutting eye.

Work lighting should be 3 times brighter than the main one, and should be used together with it (to avoid visual overstrain). As a working light, it is convenient to use hanging and table lamps, or halogen inserts in the table body.

Accent lighting creates a brilliant flicker around the pride of your interior, highlighting them in the background of the rest of the room. The overall design of the light in the apartment, using accent lighting, should be minimalistic, and the flow of light around the art object should be 3 times brighter. The luminaire in this case is better to be mounted in the floor, or the ceiling, so that the reflected rays "close", and do not irritate the look.
