Baritou is a peculiar cradle of wild nature. Baritou was founded in 1974 with the aim of preserving the unique flora and stopping the felling of trees. Territorially, it is located in the province of Salta , in the north-west of Argentina, and comes very close to the border with Bolivia . The area of ​​the park is quite extensive - 720 square meters. km. The climate is mostly subtropical, the average annual temperature is 21 ° C, and the amount of precipitation reaches 1800 mm.

Flora and fauna

The local inhabitants nicknamed the land of the park "nuboselva", which means "cloud forests". This is a consequence of high humidity and the presence of a large amount of greenery, which retards the evaporation of moisture. But not only this feature is known Park Baritou. Today this is almost the only place where you can meet a jaguar - the largest representative of a feline. Variety of fauna is supplemented by a considerable number of rare animals, such as tapirs, mountain foxes, nosuhi, pumas.
