The famous 41-year-old British actor Benedict Cumberbatch, who is famous for his work in the films "Sherlock Holmes" and "Doctor Strange", is taken for another difficult project. Today it became known that Benedict agreed to the role of Patrick Melrose in the mini-series "Melrose".

The American channel Showtime has long been interested in the works of the British author Edward Sainte-Aubin, who wrote 5 biographical books about the life of the family of aristocrats. The main character of the novels is a young man named Patrick Melrose. Despite the fact that he grew up in a wealthy and intelligent family, Patrick falls down a lot of difficult life circumstances that turn into psychological trauma. These wounds were formed mainly because of his father, who was famous for his cruel behavior, and his mother, who covered him in every possible way. Patrick from an early age will face drugs, drunkenness, family scandals and immoral behavior of his family members. Edward Sainte-Aubin describes Melrose as follows:

"Smoothie and aristocrat with a deep mental wound, which he tries to drown throughout his life."

From information that came from the channel Showtime, it became known that the shooting of the picture will start this summer. The series will have 5 films, a script for each of which will be written in a separate novel. The shooting will take place in three places: in the south of France, where the time of the 60s of the last century will be shown, in New York, where the viewer will see life in the 80s, and in the UK beginning of the 21st century, where Patrick can be seen at sunset his life.
