Craquelure - what is it?

In general, the word "craquelure" is French and in translation means "cracks on the surface." Originally this term was used among artists and restorers, because, for example, when old tables or paintings were restored, it was often necessary to resort to the technique of craquelure, so that the object began to look more dignified, but did not lose the charm of antiquity. Now this term is also used in nyl-art . Lacquer with the effect of craquelure or, as it is otherwise called, the lac-python adds to your manicure of originality due to small and large cracks appearing as it dries.

How to make a manicure with the effect of craquelure on the nails?

Many beauty salons offer this kind of manicure, but with the same success you can safely make it at home, as there are no special difficulties in this process.

The first thing you need to cover your nails with the usual varnish. To craquelure looked more impressive, varnishes choose contrasting shades. For example, the classic combination is white and black, but you can choose from brighter shades. So, after you have painted your nails, you need to wait until the paint is completely dry. And only after this can be applied over it varnish craquelure. In general, professionals advise applying this varnish with a thin layer, then it will look more bold, but you can also experiment with the thickness of its layer, as you want. Then wait until this varnish dries, and cover the nails with a transparent protective varnish. If this is not done, then the layer of craquelure will peel off in a couple of days.
