David Beckham met with Queen Elizabeth II at the ceremony Queen's Young Leaders

One of these days in Buckingham Palace took place the event Queen's Young Leaders, for which as the guest of honor for the second time the famous ex-football player David Beckham is invited. This award ceremony is for young and talented scientists who have high hopes not only in the UK, but also far beyond its borders.

David is very proud that he was invited to the event

Before Queen's Young Leaders, as Beckham later admitted to journalists, he was very nervous, because it's a great honor for him. In his opinion, in Great Britain there are a lot of worthy people who could also perfectly cope with the mission assigned to the honorary guest - to award awards. In addition, David remembered about his family:

"My daughter Harper, the news that I will meet with the Queen of Great Britain, caused great enthusiasm. She is always very worried about me. When my daughter returned from school, I told her that I was preparing for a meeting with Queen Elizabeth II. To which she said: "Dad, this is very cool! And do you think she will be drinking tea with you? "That's the kind of girl she is, we have an inquisitive girl growing up."

Entering the stage and approaching the microphone, David said these words:

"I am very proud that I can attend again here and help Her Majesty reward young scientists. I know that those talented young people who received awards that year, successfully continued to improve in this. I am sure that the scientists I will see today will also be able to introduce a number of positive changes in science. "

Prince Harry also attended the event

This year Queen's Young Leaders was also attended by Prince Harry. He also said a few words, though they all concerned not talented scientists, but Queen Elizabeth II:

"I've met many famous people in my life, but I'm lucky, because my grandmother takes first place in this huge list. She is the head of the Nation, the Commonwealth, the Armed Forces of Great Britain and, of course, our family. I consider her the most inspiring example of how to be able to manage, because she ascended to the throne very young. Her dedication and service to her subjects are the main qualities of Queen Elizabeth II. For me, my grandmother is an ideal that I will always strive for, and a standard through which I will evaluate my actions. "
