Weaving from the Vine

This kind of needlework is a real art, because in addition to traditional baskets or furniture , masters weave much more original items, and often these are amazing complex miniatures. Weaving from a willow vine is really not something very difficult. It is important only to have patience and clearly follow all the steps in the instructions. Some of the simplest variants of the weaving technique from the vine are discussed below.

Technique of weaving from the rod - main figures

Let's consider some basic tricks, which are usually used by masters.

The simplest and most common option - a vine plant under and above the guides in turn.

Similarly weave is done using two twigs at once. This option is usually used for large items, as weaving is much stronger.

There is also a more complex almost artistic weaving of products from a rod with two twigs. The first one turns over and under the guides. The second wavy envelopes the guide and the first twig at the same time.

Very strong weaving is obtained from a willow vine in three twigs. Here, each rod is wound under one guide in two. Very strong weaving, which is used for large baskets and load-bearing structures.

Weaving from the rod - an example in miniature

The following is an example of the weave that is commonly used for fences:

  1. First we need to fix the guides. These are vertical strong wooden racks, thick sticks. The number must be odd.
  2. Prutiki need to wind up under and over the guides in turn. It is important that the end of the stick remains exactly on the extreme post.
  3. Crop the remains of twigs.
  4. Cut off the excess from the bases.

As a result, they received a fence or a fence for a house in miniature.

Weaving from the vine - simple and effective basket

First, we'll figure out how to prepare a vine for weaving. The branches from the tree, painted in orange, purple or reddish shades are best suited. These twigs even at an angle of 90 ° do not crack. The newly assembled, still very soft twigs, will not work, since the product will lose its shape in time.

Collected twigs should be dried. Then again to soak, it is perfectly permissible to wrap the workpieces with a damp cloth and leave it for the whole night.

Tools for weaving from the vine of such a simple product is not much: secateurs, awl and knives.

Performance:

  1. We cut 8 blanks thicker, long from the tips of the fingers to the elbow.
  2. We select four blanks and make a hole like this in the middle with a knife. Its width is a couple of centimeters.
  3. Inside the hole, we insert the remaining workpieces.
  4. This is the basis for the basket.
  5. Now we select the most thin and flexible twigs. They should wrap the base as much as possible.
  6. Envelope the first twig one of the ends of the base, and now we begin to cross them among themselves, thus weaving the four parts of the base one after the other.
  7. We wove two rows. Further similarly we braid each branch separately.
  8. To grow twigs, we insert one twig between the first two at the point of their crossing. In the photo, A will replace B.
  9. A little further similarly replace the second twig.
  10. A couple more rows of such a weaving, and then we just start to bend a branch by a twig behind a branch.
  11. We take twigs of medium thickness and sharpen the ends.
  12. We paste them, as shown in the photo, and cut off the excess from old twigs.
  13. We take one end of the new twig, we start it under two neighboring ones and raise it. The last twigs should be made under the first one.
  14. Next, we take three additional rods and begin to weave, as shown in the photo. So we move a couple of rows.
  15. Next on the photo shows a scheme of weaving the so-called French wounds.
  16. We close the weaving with the classical method, filling the ends under several rows.
