The origins of the Day of the Russian Navy

The regular military fleet in the Russian Federation was created to overcome political, territorial and cultural isolation, which was the main cause of the country's economic and social backwardness at the turn of the 17-18 centuries. The first Russian combat ship was built on the design of the Dutch colonel and famous shipbuilder Cornelius Vanbukoven under Tsar Aleksei Mikhailovich. The ship was given a name in honor of the emblem - "Eagle". It had a length of 24.5 m and a width of 6.5 m, was equipped with 22 guns.

The structure of the modern Russian Navy includes:

Also on the Day of the Navy in Ukraine the people were welcomed by fabulous and historical characters, the main one of which in 2012 was Catherine II. The paratroopers came ashore, dressed in 33 athletes with scuba diving. In the bay there were demonstration mini-exercises: shooting from torpedoes on the target and the destruction of underwater mines. On this holiday, as well as on the Victory Day , Sevastopol was crowded with people and fun.
