Easter baskets

Well, here with the baking of Easter cakes and the decoration of Easter eggs is over. You happily sighed, wiping sweat from your forehead, and thought: "And where to put it all?". What does it mean where? Of course, in Easter baskets! They can be made on their own or buy a ready wicker basket, say from a vine, and make of it Easter, by decorating with different thematic elements. And those who have a creative start constantly demanding an exit, for sure it will be more interesting to make an Easter basket with their own hands.

Easter baskets from old newspapers and magazines

How to make an Easter basket yourself? And such that it has served more than one year, and at the same time little different from the one that can be bought in the store? Everything is quite simple, it is enough to find old newspapers and magazines, a wooden skewer (a spoke or just a straight piece of wire), a PVA glue and personally make an Easter wicker basket.

  1. To begin with, you need to prepare the material for weaving, namely the newspaper "vine." To do this, a sheet of newspaper or magazine should be cut into strips approximately 9 cm wide. Now, on a wooden skewer, knitting needle or just on a straight piece of wire, tightly wind the paper strip, starting from the corner and twisting the tube obliquely, as shown in the photo. When you see that the paper sheet is coming to an end, slightly loosen the winding density so that one end of the tube is slightly wider than the other. We fix the end of the tape with glue and our material for weaving is ready!
  2. Having prepared a sufficient number of tubes, you can start weaving the bottom of the basket from the most usual grid.
  3. When the grid of 5х5 divisions is ready, we begin circular weaving.
  4. If the tube ends, then you can put it next by inserting a new tube into the ending, pre-lubricating it with glue (that's why we made one end of the tube slightly wider).
  5. Now determine the size of the future basket. It is necessary to push off from an existing sample, such as a pot for flowers. The woven bottom should coincide in size with the bottom of this pot.
  6. We bend the main tubules (you can fix them with the help of an elastic band, which is put on the chosen shape) and align all of them through the same distance. Masters are advised to build these sticks with tubes of more dense material, for example, magazine covers.
  7. We braid the shape to the height that you like best and begin the final stage of work, namely, we hide the ends of the tubes. Alternately, bend the sticks one behind the other inward and try to weave them down. Help in this hard business hard knitting. Then we cut off the extra ends.

All! At this stage, the manufacture of the basket is over. But you were surely going to bring a variety of food to the church in this wicker basket of Easter. So our product needs a strong pen! Here's how it's done:

  1. So, we have a woven basket. We choose the place where the handle should be located and pass two tubes into it.
  2. We will wrap and roll the tubes to the required length.
  3. Crop unnecessary ends.
  4. We will paste the remaining tips with glue.
  5. We will connect with each other and fix it with clothespins.
  6. When the ends meet well with each other, then again we will glue them with glue.
  7. Let's take a new tube and start wrapping the pen around it.

That's all - the handle for the basket is ready! Thus, you can make a handle of any length and be absolutely sure of its strength.

Well, now it remains only to decorate the Easter basket, how to decide for yourself. Maybe you leave the basket in its original color, taking care only of its internal filling, for example, make green grass from colored paper, into which you lay Easter eggs, or cover your masterpiece with a suitable dye that will make your Easter basket of paper indistinguishable from the original from the vine, fantasize.

Easter baskets of cloth

Those who do not like to do the weaving of Easter baskets can try to sew them. Need thread, needle, scissors and a long thick rope or long strips of cloth 5-8 cm wide. We twist the fabric into bundles (if you took a rope, do not do anything) and stack them in a circle, giving the shape of a basket. We bundle the bundles together with threads. Having made a basket of the necessary depth, we hide the tail. From three strips of plait pigtail and make a handle for the basket. To make such homemade Easter baskets not ashamed to show to friends, they need to be decorated. Although, if you took a fabric of bright colors, the best decoration of the basket would be its contents.

Easter basket with flowers

It's very easy to make such Easter baskets with your own hands. You need artificial flowers, cloth (you can burlap), scissors, glue, a bucket of mayonnaise (ice cream) and ribbons for decoration.

  1. We paste the bucket with the selected fabric.
  2. We close joints with artificial flowers, sewing or gluing them to the fabric.
  3. We wind the handle of the bucket with tape and fix it with glue. The basket will be ready for use after the glue dries. In the meantime, you can think about its internal filling. For example, if you used burlap for a basket, the inside will look good with a bast or sisal. In this nest, Easter eggs will look very elegant.

Easter baskets of plastic bottles

To make this basket you need a plastic bottle, white cloth, a circle of colored material (it is desirable to trim it on the edge of the lace), scissors, a piece of batting (foam rubber) with a diameter larger than the bottom of the bottle, tape, glue and stapler.

  1. Cut off the bottom of the bottle - determine the depth to your liking. Another bottle will need to cut one semicircle for the handle.
  2. With a white cloth, we tighten the bottle from the inside, fixing its ends from the outside at the bottom with an elastic band for money or wire.
  3. We put on the table a piece of cloth with lace, a piece of batting on it, and a prepared bottle on top. Collect the fabric and at the top of the basket fix it with tape.
  4. The part for the handle is pasted with a cloth in the tone of the basket.
  5. Attach the handle to the basket with a stapler.
