One of the most famous resorts of the Republic of Abkhazia is the city of Gagra, located near the airport in Adler and closest to the border. The infrastructure of tourism is very well developed here, but with Gagra this is the most expensive city in the country. Excursions in Gagra
Most of the territory in Old Gagra is the seaside park of the Prince of Oldenburg, founded in the early 20th century. On its territory are collected various ornamental plants: a candy tree, magnolias, palm trees of different species, cedars and others. Also there is a playground designed by Zurab Tsereteli, a monument of the 6th century - a serf temple and a museum of ancient weapons.

Gorge Tsikhervy attracts tourists with the cave of St. Eupatius or Euphrates, the most famous in Gagra. It consists of two rooms, and its name was given by the name of a monk who lived in it at the end of the 19th century. The total length of the beach of this resort is 53 km. Since the whole city is divided into 2 parts, the beaches of each of them are different:
- in Staraya Gagra it is a coastal zone and the seabed consists of pebbles of different sizes;
- in New Gagra - small pebble areas with a sand strip, there are points of hire and sea entertainment, so the rest is accumulated more.
Almost all beaches are city-wide and unequipped, only with boarding houses there are equipped places for recreation.
