How to remove bubbles on wallpaper after gluing?

As you know, it is easier to prevent mistakes than to correct them. This truth also applies to the wallpapering. There are a number of rules that must be followed in the process of work. Their violation inevitably leads to the appearance of air bubbles on the wallpaper, from which many do not know how to get rid of.

Why there are bubbles on the wallpaper:

  1. The result of the work always depends on the quality of the material. Bubbles after gluing more often remain on cheap wallpaper, consisting of one layer, in contrast to multilayered. The same applies to glue, which, moreover, does not like the speed of cooking due to saturation with air. Ready-to-use products are considered better. Before you start, you should carefully read the instructions attached to the wallpaper, because it indicates exactly which glue should be purchased.
  2. When applying glue to both the wall and wallpaper, it is important to observe the measure. Its large number or deficiency always threatens the appearance of bubbles.
  3. Great importance is the condition of the walls, which will have to adhere to the canvases. They should be perfectly even and without defects, in the form of cracks, all sorts of spots and remains of previous wallpapers. Unevenness contributes to the accumulation of air, and calcareous or grease spots prevent the paper from sticking well to the wall.
  4. Screws and too high a temperature in the room accelerate the drying process. As a result, on the wallpaper after the sticking bubbles appear, with which we do not know what to do.

Ways to get rid of bubbles

The most famous way to remove bubbles on the wallpaper after drying is to pierce the canvas at the point of bloating and insert the necessary quantity of glue under the syringe. Then, with a roller or cloth, you should gently smooth the wallpaper, removing the drops protruding through the hole with a sponge. If the paper adheres well to the wall, you can get by with one puncture.

A more radical method is used when the bubbles are too large. Cloth or paste, or make a cross-cut with a sharp object. The appearance of bubbles immediately after the end of work - this is not an excuse to get upset. As a rule, all of them or most of them disappear during the drying of the canvas.
