A zoo for many people is a firework of emotions and wonders from childhood. The most vivid memories of a person's memory are associated with closeness to nature. Therefore, when traveling in Madrid, do not deny yourself the pleasure and visit the Madrid Zoo (Zoo Aquarium de Madrid). And if you are with children , then it should become for you an obligatory item in the cultural program.
The Zoo in Madrid is located in the vast park of Casa de Campo, stretching for about 20 hectares and is considered one of the largest in the world. This is a true nature reserve, inhabited by representatives of all continents, about 6000 inhabitants, and pride, sperm whale, white tiger and koalas are especially proud. Each group of animals lives in open cages, which are separated from visitors only by moats and small fences.
The territory is competently divided into zones according to their purpose:

- Europe - represents the true animals of the territory: mink, moufflon, rabbits, European lynx, moose and others;
- Asia - in this sector live pearls of the animal world, such as the Amur tiger, Himalayan bear, huge panda, Asian elephant, antelope and others;
- Africa - the staff of the zoo managed to recreate the mysterious continent where leopards, lions, snow leopards, giraffes, zebras, Nile crocodile and others live;
- Latin America is the territory where you can see an anteater, sea lion, American bison, blue frog and other inhabitants;
- Madagascar - strange animals of a mysterious island;
- Oceania - part of the zoo, where live kangaroos, iguana, koalas and others;
- Birds are the largest collection of predatory and exotic birds from all continents: eagles, parrots, hawks, toucans, vultures, pelicans, cockatoo and not only.
In addition, the Madrid zoo built a terrarium, where many snakes, spiders, scorpions and other rare and poisonous invertebrates were collected.
For the youngest visitors, the sea of joy will be presented to the children's farm: donkeys, pigs, lambs and their babies, which can be fed, hugged and photographed.
How to get there and visit?
According to many tourists, it is more convenient to take a taxi or a rented car on the coordinates: longitude - 3.76289399999996, latitude - 40.409443. Local residents mostly use bus number 33 to the Casa de Campo stop or metro lines No. 5 and 10 to the same stop, but before entering you will have to walk a little bit through the park.
The Madrid Zoo is open for visits:
- from Monday to Friday from 10:30 to 19:00;
- on Saturday from 10:00 to 20:00;

Adult ticket costs about € 23, children € 19, up to three years old children are free. When ordering tickets via the Internet, you will receive a discount of about 10%. For large families and groups there are preferential terms. All visitors are given free maps of the zoo, which are marked with recreation areas, cafes, drinking water fountains, etc.
