Original attractions decorated with ... garbage

In New Zealand, you can see unusual sights, the main highlight of which are unnecessary things: bras, flip-flops, toothbrushes and much more.

Moreover, due to their originality, these places attract many tourists from all over the world every year. Let's understand, is this really so unusual, that many are ready to change several flights to still see these sights.

1. Brassieres, bras, bras ...

Let's start with a bra fence, located in the central part of the Otago region, in Cardron. Earlier it was an ordinary rural fence, and now - a real tourist object, decorated with underwear.

And it all began in late December 1999, when from nowhere, on a wire fence someone hung four bras. And in February 2000, it featured 60 sconces, and by the end of the year the number of such clothes reached 200.

It is interesting that along with local residents who were proud of such an unusual sight, there were those who considered this object humiliating. Moreover, they said that this section of the road is dangerous for drivers. After all, they are often distracted at the wheel to see the interesting decoration of the fence.

Fortunately for many New Zealanders, to date, the brittle Holland attraction attracts many tourists and professional photographers. In addition, by 2017, it has thousands of bras.

And in the last few years, thanks to this unusual sight, volunteers have managed to raise money for the Fund to Fight Breast Cancer (on the fence are fixed small pink boxes).

2. Now about toothbrushes

And what do you say about the fence, decorated with celebrity toothbrushes, among which actor Bret Mackenzie and New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark. This landmark is located along the quiet rural road of Te Pahu near Hamilton. Thanks to toothbrushes, the gray and seemingly unremarkable fence became a real decoration of the roadway. The foundation, or rather the first toothbrush, was hung on him by a local resident Graham Cairns. Who would have thought that dozens of people would pick up his creative idea and start leaving their personal hygiene items here.

3. Who needs slippers?

And another unusual fence, or rather the fences of New Zealand, decorated with traditional Vietnamese. New Zealanders call this footwear dzhandaly (abbreviated from Japanese sandals). By the way, it is not known who became the first person who decided not to throw out his shoes, but to decorate the fence with it. Despite this, the jandal became the national symbol of the country.

4. Wheel fence

Definitely, it sounds strange, but it looks very, very creative. Such beauty can be seen not far from the main road Kingston. And this cottage fence made of old wheels of trucks is made.

5. Sale of shoes, old toys and buoys

Do not know how to refine a wooden fence? New Zealanders in this business are real professionals! Look only at this fence in Voodhill, Northwest Oakland. It's amazing that there was not a clever man who would take these rubber boots.

But the fence near the road near Cape Palliser, that in Vairarap, is decorated with colorful buoys. Unusually and at the same time colorful. In the central part of Taranaki is a concrete wall with hundreds of children's toys. It was established in 1997 by a local resident of Fei Yang.

Near the house the girl found a child's toy. So that the lost child could find it, Fei attached the toy to the concrete wall. As a result, many children began to leave their old cars, dolls and so on, turning the gray wall into something unique and pleasing to the eye. By the way, now the length of this wall has reached 20 meters.
