The founder of the city of Perm was V.N. Tatishchev. In this small Ural town lived such famous personalities as P.P. Bazhov (author of the Malachite Casket), writer D.N. Mamin-Sibiryak, artist P.P. Vereshchagin, pilot-cosmonaut V. Savinykh. Perm is the second largest city after Moscow.
