Simeiz, Crimea - attractions

On the southern coast of the Crimea is located a small, but well-known town of Simeiz. In addition to the magnificent pebble beaches, surrounded by a ridge of rocks, there are many sights in Simeiz of Crimea. It is about them that will be discussed.

Rock Diva, Simeiz

The city's business card, the 52-meter Diva rock, rises near the beach and cuts into the waters of the Black Sea. It's not easy to get here - you have to go through a small stone ridge. From the top of the Diva there is a magnificent panorama of the sea, Simeiz and the surrounding countryside.

Mount Cat, Simeiz

A small resort is located at Mount Koshka, so named for its resemblance to the affectionate animal: on the eastern side the outlines of a cat can be guessed: a head with ears, a curved back, a tail. By the way, from Simeiz here excursions to the Simeiz observatory are arranged, which is on the slopes of the mountain. In the evening, you can see planets, stars and nebulae from the telescope.

Fortress Lymena-Isar, Simeiz

From the northern side of Mount Koshka in Simeiz, almost at the very top are located the ruins of defensive structures and necropolis of Tauris - the fortress of Lyman-Isar.

Mount Panea and the fortress, Simeiz

Not far from the cliff of Diva towers the rock of Panea, famous for the fact that on its slopes you can see the ruins of this Genoese fortress, which was built in the XIV-XV centuries.

Park in Simeiz

Spending holidays in Simeiz, in Crimea, it is impossible not to visit a small, but quite picturesque park, where palm trees, cypresses, pines and juniper grow. To the borders of the park there is a cypress alley decorated with statues of heroes of the Greek epic.

Simeiz Villas

Sightseeing attractions in Simeiz include several villas with unusual architecture. Villa "Dream" (20's of XX century), built in Arabic architectural style, is decorated with carved window apertures and a turret resembling a minaret.

Not far from the park stands the villa "Xenia", built in the laconic style of a Scottish chalet.
