The Himalayas are the highest mountain system of our planet, which stretched out in Central and South Asia and is on the territory of such states as China, India, Bhutan, Pakistan and Nepal. The highest peak of the Himalayas is Mount Jomolungma, or Mount Everest. It rises in the northern part of the ridge of Mahalangur-Khimal, the highest mountain range of our planet, which can only be reached after arriving in China . Its height reaches 8848 m.

Jomolungma is the name of the mountain in Tibetan, which means "Divine mother of the Earth". In Nepalese, the vertex sounds like Sagarmatha, which translates "Mother of the Gods". Everest, it was named after George Everest, a British scientist-researcher who supervised the geodetic service in nearby territories.
The shape of the highest peak of the Himalayas of Jomolungma is a triangular pyramid, in which the southern slope is steeper. As a consequence, that part of the mountain is barely covered with snow.
The conquest of the highest peak of the Himalayas
Unbreakable Chomolungma has long attracted the attention of mountaineers of the Earth. However, unfortunately, due to unfavorable conditions, mortality is still high here - official reports of death on the mountain were more than 200. At the same time, almost 3000 people successfully ascended and descended from Mount Everest. The first ascent to the summit occurred in 1953 Nepalese Tenzing Norgay and New Zealander Edmund Hillary with the help of oxygen devices.
