Thermo cabinet for storing vegetables

How good it is for those who live in private homes! In the yards of most of them there are always farm buildings or cellars, where it is so convenient to store vegetables and fruits that do not freeze in winter, but are kept longer in warm weather. But what do those who live in the apartment do? An excellent alternative to the cellar is the oven for storing vegetables.

How does the oven for storing vegetables work?

While in the street the plus temperature, to store products on a balcony in the autumn or in the spring it will not be difficult. But with the arrival of frosts, the landladies have to think about where to move the vegetables so that they do not deteriorate. But it's much easier to solve the problem with a thermo cabinet. It is a rectangular cabinet with a metal or wooden casing and with insulated foam plastic walls. Inside this container is lined with plastic walls.

Food products are placed in the oven for storing vegetables on the balcony through a fitted door with excellent hermetic properties. The door can be placed in different ways: from above (like a chest) or from the side, like a refrigerator. Depending on the model, some thermal cabinets have departments or boxes for dividing vegetables. But this is not the most important thing.

Due to the fact that the oven is connected to the mains, a comfortable mode for storing vegetables in the range + 2 + 6 ° C is installed inside the device. Moreover, any oven for storing vegetables (for example, a model from the Russian manufacturer "Pogrebok") is manufactured with a thermoregulator. A small spare part has an important function: when the minus temperature changes on the street and the balcony inside the device there will always be a positive temperature. And it is installed automatically.

In this case, you should not worry that the vegetables and fruits stored in the oven will rot and deteriorate if not from frost, then from humidity. Despite the layer of insulation, the box has a system of forced ventilation.

The thermo cabinet - what about electricity consumption?

Despite the fact that the thermo cabinet needs to use electricity to maintain the optimum temperature in conditions before cooling to -40 ⁰С, it does not consume too much energy. The point is that in order to reach the desired temperature, the device first, as it were, pumps the maximum power value. After that, the power gradually decreases and keeps at a level sufficient to maintain the required temperature regime. So, for example, on average, a household thermo cabinet for a balcony consumes about 40-50 W per hour (this is the value of a medium-power bulb). While the electric oven for industrial vegetables is used for an interval of one hour at times more.
