Visa to Israel for Belarusians

Not all travelers from Belarus, wishing to visit the sacred sites, know if there is a visa for them to Israel or not. Let's try to figure this out.

Since the moment of recognition of independence of Belarus in 1992 and until 2014, for Belarus to travel to Israel it was necessary to issue a visa in advance, for this it was necessary to collect a package of documents and to transfer it to the Embassy located in Minsk.

Diplomatic relations between Belarus and Israel are very strong. This happened due to the fact that the flow of tourists from these countries is increasing every year, and tens of thousands of people from different countries live permanently on their territories, as well as expanding the list of areas of cooperation (from medicine to production).

Israeli visas for Belarusians

To attract tourists and facilitate communication between relatives living in different countries, in 2008 the Israeli government proposed to abolish the visa regime with a number of CIS countries. This was done first with Russia, and then with Georgia and Ukraine. But only in the fall of 2014 Israel canceled visas for Belarusians.

After the entry into force of the signed agreement between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of both states, each citizen of the Republic of Belarus can spend 90 days 1 time in 6 months in Israel without issuing any authorization documents (and not as covered in the media with a biometric passport). But there is a small caveat. This applies only to cases where the purpose of the trip is tourism and visits to relatives.

If you are going to study, work or stay in the country will last longer than 3 months, you will need to contact the Israeli Embassy for an individual explanation, whether you need to get a visa for this, and how to do it.
