23 paintings-metamorphosis, which you need to look twice

The style in which Rob Gonsalves draws, some call surrealism, but the name "magical realism" suits him much better.

Canadian artist Robert Gonsalves, known for his unique style of magical surrealism, was fascinated by painting at the age of 12 and studied the perspective and architecture in detail, which enabled him to write original paintings-metamorphoses reminiscent of Asher's cryptic engravings and Magritte paintings.

All of his paintings represent an intricate optical illusion and make the viewer break his head over the search for a transition from the real world to the imaginary one. Gonsalves is a true master to hide the fine line between reality and imagination.
