Torture was invented a long time ago and, fortunately, there are still. Worse, some of the new methods have joined the already existing ones. I would like to believe that all of them will one day go into oblivion, and the world will become less cruel.

1. Water
This method is used today against Falun Gong preachers in China. The victim is placed in a cage, which is partially lowered into dirty water. To deliver a person as much as possible torment and intimidate him, the level of fluid must reach the neck.
2. Cold
This is one of the few tortures that the CIA unofficially allowed to use. Prisoners are placed in a room with air conditioners turned on at the lowest temperature. Sometimes it takes years for the special services to "get out" the information they need. Most of this time the unfortunate conducts in the "refrigerator."

9. Tucker phone

It sounds wild, but it's a well-known fact: some governments practiced torture with music. The victims were forced to listen to the tracks for a long time. And at some point the body gave up, craving for silence.
12. Burial alive

13. Handcuffs
Chinese policemen have tender feelings for this method. It consists in the fact that all the limbs of the victim are handcuffed. As a rule, behind the back. Sometimes prisoners are suspended in this form.
14. Lashing with a whip

24. Insomnia
