Beaches of Estonia

Estonia is washed by the Baltic Sea, located between the Finnish and the Gulf of Riga , so it has a lot of beautiful beaches. Most of them make holidaymakers happy with fine clean sand, but there are beaches and with stony beaches. The beach season in Estonia starts in June and ends in early September.

Beaches of Tallinn

A good beach holiday in the Estonian capital is provided by the Gulf of Finland and two large lakes. It is interesting that it is the lake that attracts tourists the most. This is due to the fact that internal reservoirs get warmer, so families with children go there.

In Tallinn there are five official beaches:

  1. Pirita . The most popular metropolitan beach. In addition to vacationers there are always many yachtsmen. In 1980, the Olympic regatta took place in this place, after which the Olympic center remained. Today it is actively involved in athletes. The beach itself is perfectly landscaped: cafes, restaurants, scooter rental, a golf course and attractions for children. You can also rent a boat or catamaran.
  2. Shtroomi . The beach is located in the north of the capital, on the Copley peninsula. On this beach is always a lot of tourists. In addition, the beach has an equipped picnic area. For those who like beach sports there are several venues for volleyball, basketball and beach football. Shtroomi, is located on the Baltic Sea, so a boat trip on a catamaran or boat will be a great pleasure. You can have a snack in one of the many restaurants.
  3. Pikakari . The beach is located next to the former industrial zone, so in picturesqueness it is inferior to other beaches. Its main virtue is depth. Entering the water, you will feel how the bottom almost leaves under the feet. On the one hand, this place is absolutely not suitable for rest with children, but on the other - it is a great place for those who like to swim and dive. In addition, there are always waves coming from the passenger port. Therefore, water skiing or other water attractions are a great pleasure. On the beach, rescuers work, because of what to worry about their safety is not worth it.
  4. Kakumäe . It is located next to the private sector, on the outskirts of the city. The beach is famous for very clean water and a small number of holidaymakers, as it takes longer to get to it than to others. Kakumäe is very popular with locals. For children on the beach is equipped with a small children's playground with a small house and a swing. Parents can also relax in the beach cafe.
  5. Harku . The beach is located on the shore of the lake, from which it got its name. Harku is divided into two parts - a clean sandy beach and a green area. Therefore, there is the opportunity to sunbathe and have a picnic, but it is worth knowing that on this beach it is strictly forbidden to build a fire and even to fry the food on the grill.

Other beaches of Estonia

In addition to the capital's beaches in Estonia, there are other worthy tourists:

  1. Perakyula . The beach is in the city of Haapsalu . This beach is known for a good sandy beach and a lot of places prepared for the fire, that is, organizing a picnic. Also on Perakula is popular camping, perhaps, so there are so few cafes and entertainment. The length of Perakul is 2 km, it is perfect for hiking. In addition, near the beach is a pine forest, so the air in these places is incredibly clean. On the beach you can always see surfers who "catch the waves".
  2. Narva-Iyesuu . It is not just a beach, but a well-known Estonian resort. The length of Narva-Iesuu is 7.5 km. Next to it is a pine forest with old trees. The infrastructure of the beach is perfectly developed: cabins for changing clothes, showers, attractions, etc. Despite the fact that the beach is very large throughout its territory, a group of rescuers. Narva-Iesuuu is also famous for the fact that it is the only nudist beach in Estonia. The zone where it is allowed to rest, the adherents of such a holiday, is marked with special signs.
  3. Pärnu . It is located in the bay and belongs to the same resort . The beach is always visited by many people, as the water here quickly heats up, and the depth is small. Parnu is surrounded by parks, where you can also relax or hide from scorching rays. But if you still want to spend the whole day on the beach, then you can rent a chaise longue, play mini golf, volleyball or beach football. It is interesting that part of Pärnu is marked as "Women's Beach" - this is a historical place. It was organized a hundred years ago. At that time, women could rest from men's views only here. Representatives of the fair sex could rest even without swimsuits.
  4. The challenge . It is located in the county of Lääne-Virumaa. This place is wonderful because it is located away from noisy cities. But this does not affect the conditions of rest. The beach has everything you need - from the toilet to the sports grounds. There are also beach bars and cafes, where you can drink a soft drink or a snack.
