Features of fluorescent lamps
Such fixtures are filled with a gas that is converted into visible light with the help of a phosphor - a substance that transforms the absorbed energy. Characteristics and advantages of a ceiling lamp with the use of daylight:
- economical consumption of electricity (up to 80%);- long service life (up to 10 years);
- low heating temperature (up to 60 degrees);
- powerful luminous flux;
- a variety of colors.
The maximum value of illumination is achieved not instantaneously, but after some time after switching on. At low temperatures (less than +5 degrees), such lamps burn dimly, which limits their use in a street environment.
Light output of such models is several times higher. If previously used a 100 W incandescent lamp, then the luminescent power needs 20 W.
When using a fluorescent light fixture, it is desirable to install a matte cover for eye protection. A special feature of daylight lamps was the color temperature. The higher it is, the closer the color will be to blue, the lower it will be to red.
Often, the ceiling lamp is combined with a starter, which is built into the base. He is responsible for the inclusion, lack of flicker, continuous meals. The electronic ballast is better than an electromagnetic obsolete analog. The modern device does not provoke flashing and prolongs the service life of the luminaire.

Large lamps are often equipped with a mirror surface, in which several tube lamps can be used simultaneously. Ceiling industrial models are characterized by high power and provide uniform illumination of a rather spacious room. They can often be found at enterprises, warehouses, shopping complexes.
In the design project, ceiling lamps with modern daylight lamps can be used for general lighting or point additional. The most common is the incorporation of fluorescent lamps into cassette suspended ceilings (in the form of slabs). But they can be mounted in plastic, plasterboard, rack and pinion structures. In the interior of the bathroom, hallway, hall, daylight lamps look great.
Lighting fixtures equipped with a shade create scattered light, which is used to create a relaxation and rest environment. Fixtures - soffits with fluorescent lamps create a narrow-beam light and accent a certain section of the room.
