Today for the fans of 69-year-old English composer Andrew Lloyd Webber in the press appeared interesting news. The creator of the musicals "The Phantom of the Opera", "Evita", "Cats" and many others decided to tell about what he wrote in his memoirs "Without a Mask", which was recently published.
3 times Andrew nearly committed suicide
His story about the memoir Webber began by saying that he did not want to write them. In his opinion, he lived the most ordinary life and put it on display would be stupid. Despite this, the work "Without a Mask" nevertheless saw the light and judging by the number of copies sold it enjoys incredible demand among fans. Most of all in the book, Andrew touched on the subject of suicide, because he tried to kill himself 3 times. "I have been fond of music since my childhood, but I have always been not very confident. It seemed to me that I have no talent and I have no future in music. When I was 14 years old, I decided that my life was disgusting. Then I was visited by thoughts of suicide. I went to several pharmacies and bought 2 packs of aspirin. After this, he pulled off from his parents medicines that were intended to stop severe pain. After that he left the house, took a bus and drove to a village called Lavenem. When I got off the bus, it came to me that it was not all so tragic. I just do not feel like going to school, and I do not feel happy in my family. "
Then Andrew remembered the following sad episode about suicide:
"The second time I thought about that I want to die in 1960. Then I studied in high school and we already had military training. Army tests were always given to me very difficult and then I did not pass them. From this I was terribly ill. I bought a lot of aspirin and drank it all. Further I do not remember anything, but when I opened my eyes, the doctor bent over me. He was terribly frightened and started to scream at me, saying these words: "What did you do? You do not know how much you scared your parents! ".

Webber almost did not commit suicide in 2010
After that the composer told about why he thought about suicide in 2010:
"At that time I was already quite a popular composer. It was a sin to complain to my life, but still there were problems. I remember that I successfully passed treatment for prostate cancer and already wanted to breathe freely, as I started terrible back pain. My doctor prescribed medicines, but they did not help. So I was tortured about half a year and began to think about the fact that I wanted to die. Thank you for the presence of my wife Madeleine. It was she who helped me to overcome this difficult streak in my life by finding a good osteopath. Madeleine brought me back to life and then I realized that besides the Tony Award, there are a lot of other equally interesting things. "
