Documents for obtaining a Schengen visa
The Schengen agreement has existed for many years, but, in spite of this, there are no uniform rules for obtaining a Schengen visa. More precisely, they allegedly exist, but are interpreted by different countries in the widest range. Therefore, we advise, if you have definitively decided on the choice of the embassy in which you will go for a visa, carefully study all the information posted on its website thoroughly. List of documents for the Schengen visa
For a short stay, the main list of documents for obtaining a Schengen visa is as follows:
- Questionnaire, which you will have to fill in English, national or Russian, but if the questionnaire is filled in Russian, it must be in Latin letters and signed with your own hand;
- color photo 3,5х4,5 cm, not older than 6 months, clear on a light background, the eyes should be visible clearly, the face should occupy 75-80% of the photo;
- a foreign passport without a cover, with a validity of more than three months after the expiration date of the visa that you want to request;
- photocopy of the passport;
- insurance, which is obligated to cover € 30 000 and valid for the entire period of validity of the visa;
- certificate issued from the place of work (original);
- a document that confirms the availability of funds to cover all costs (bank statement, traveler's checks), a copy and the original of the invitation;
- a copy of the passport page, where all the previous ambassadorial and Schengen visas are indicated;
- a copy of the written consent for the trip of the parents or guardians is required for the minor

If you make out a Schengen visa yourself, the consular fee for it will be 35 € for all citizens of Russia.
If you are not a citizen of Russia, but traveling from Russia, then you need to show additional documents:
- RWP, residence permit or Russian visa, which will allow you to return to the Russian Federation;
- registration, whose operation will continue for at least three months after the planned return to Russia.
