Embankment Corniche

One of the most famous landmarks of the UAE capital is the Corniche embankment, the largest park in the Middle East. The Corniche Embankment in Abu Dhabi is a favorite holiday destination not only for tourists, but also for the townspeople.

General information

The Corniche embankment has a length of almost 10 km, and here you can find everything to have a great time. There are pedestrian areas and bike paths, roller skating rinks, benches and various gazebos for recreation , a lot of green areas - park and garden.

You can come here by bike, or you can rent it right here - like skateboards, videos, segways. In addition, on the waterfront there are children's playgrounds and grounds for adults - for example, volleyball. You can also engage in such an extreme - and as yet somewhat exotic - sport, like wake-up; for this on the waterfront there is a whole wake-park.

It is on the Corniche Quay that most of the Adu-Dabi fountains are located (and there are 90 of them in the capital). The most famous are "Vulcan", "Coffee", "Swans", "Pearl".

Walking along the embankment, you can admire the skyscrapers that frame it. And those who have developed a good appetite, expect numerous cafes and restaurants.

Beach

Along the Corniche promenade stretches a beach more than 4 km long. He has been the holder of the Blue Flag for many years. The beach begins from the 5 * club of the Hilton Abu Dhabi hotel and stretches to Ittihad Square. Monthly it is visited by about 50 thousand people.

The beach is divided into 4 zones:

Family and singles are paid; The cost of visiting the beach is about 2.7 USD from an adult and about 1.3 from a child (from 5 to 12 years old, children over 12 are equated to adults, under 5 are free). Access to paid access is limited in time: they work from 8am to 10pm.

The paid zone is equipped with showers, cabanas, toilets. There are playgrounds, volleyball courts, football fields, as well as shops, restaurants and cafes.

The public area is free. It is open around the clock (however, at night it is better not to swim, because the rescuers work only before sunset). The entrance to both paid and free zones with pets is prohibited.

On the beach you can do water sports: kayaking, scootering, water skiing, parasailing. From the car park to the beach you can walk on foot in just a couple of minutes, but those who are too lazy to do this, can drive up a free bus.

How to get to the waterfront?
