Brick for finishing the facade of the house is the most sought-after material. It improves the appearance of the building, its physical strength, thermal insulation.
Finishing materials
For the decoration of walls is most often used:
- Facing bricks. The finishing of the facade of the house with facing brick provides the walls with a low thermal conductivity and resistance to water. It is applicable for all types of exterior finishes.
- Clinker brick. Clinker brick is distinguished by more precise facets, uniform color and aesthetic appearance. It is characterized by very high strength.
- Imitation masonry. Finishing of the facade of a private house is appropriate to perform and using tiles for a brick. It is used in the event that it is impossible to perform the facing with a brick for some reason. Clinker tiles or " boar " correspond to all the parameters and shades of bricks, completely mimic the masonry, it is durable, looks aesthetically and neatly.
The texture of the surface of the brick is also divided into:
- a brick with a smooth surface - is used most often. It looks more aesthetically, it's easier to take care of it;
- brick with a relief surface - used to highlight some architectural elements, corners, openings. They do not spread the whole area of the wall;
- A brick with a glazed surface is covered with a special gloss.
Options for finishing the facade with brick
There are different types of masonry for the facade.
- Straight. The bricks are laid in any way of a bundle: rectangular, chess, with alternation of long and short sides, with single or multiple rows and uniform placement of the seams.
- Artistic. It is made with the help of a multi-colored brick, the scheme of seams. Attractive compositions are obtained when different facings of joints are combined on the facade with the use of colored bricks. In this case, a combination of material is used, contrasting framing of door and window openings, corners, cornices. Red, yellow, gray, white and brown - the main colors for the facade. They can be combined. White brick is perfectly combined with gray; yellow - with brown; red looks in itself very presentable, can be combined with white. The shade of the roof of the house is selected in the tone of the walls or the contrast is darker.
- Decorative. In this decoration, in addition to the patterns, relief elements are used - projections, inclines, steps, convexities. Popular techniques: ledges - vertically shifted part of the masonry; overlaps - the brick of the upper row hangs over the lower one; cut-offs - the brick is hiding inside the masonry; pilasters - protrusions, imitation of columns on the wall.
Decorative possibilities of a brick allow to receive a monophonic, contrast or melange design. The color of the seam is selected in such a way as to align the overall shade or advantageously shade it. Additional contrast staining of seams can give special expressiveness to the laying, emphasize the geometry of the material. A wide range of architectural solutions (patterns, arches, columns, chimneys, curvilinear lines, balconies, terraces ) make it possible to decorate the structure in any style you like with the help of brickwork. It can be a laconic red-brown classic, and a dark, strict English-style house or a modern cottage in the minimalist style with a light light finish.
