Gas generator for home

Gas generators-power stations in the calculations of specialists and in practice show that they are more advantageous in comparison with gasoline and diesel generators.

Gas generator of electricity - classification by capacity

Depending on the power, all gas generators are divided into 4 groups: generators up to 5-6 kW; 10-20 kW; 10-25 kW; more than 25 kW.

The generator with the minimum power can work continuously for 5-6 hours. It is not bad in the country cottage, where you connect low-power appliances - a kettle , an electric hob, a TV and, of course, lighting devices.

Generators with a power of 10-20 kW are designed for installation in medium-sized cottages. As a rule, an automated control unit is installed with this device to prevent breakages in the power supply. The generator for 10-20 kW operates continuously for up to 12 hours, and it can be installed directly on the street - there is a special protective cover for this.

Gas generator of electricity capacity of 10-25 kW is fundamentally different from the previous version in that it has liquid cooling, which allows the generator to develop significantly more power and work continuously for days on end. After 10 days, however, you will need to change the oil. These generators are usually installed in large cottages.

Generators with a capacity of more than 25 kW are actually power plants and are used in very large country houses, estates with several houses, as well as in small industrial facilities.

Gas generator for home: classification by type of fuel

In addition to the power characteristic, all gas generators differ in the type of fuel used. So, some of them work on the main gas (directly from the pipe), others - on liquefied gas (from cylinders or from a mini-gas holder). And there are universal generators that can work on any kind of gas.

If a gas main is connected to the cottage, then the gas generator is the most profitable source of electricity. But here it is necessary to consider one feature - the gas pressure. With a low gas pressure in the pipe, a powerful generator will not be able to take enough fuel for itself and will not work at full power. So before buying a gas generator, ask the employees of the gas company about the actual pressure in your area.

If you have a gas boiler for heating, and you regularly buy gas for it, then a powerful gas generator with liquefied fuel will be quite appropriate. It is better to choose generators with a power of 4-6 kW. It will be enough to stay in the country for a few days. The gas consumption in this gas generator is such that a 50-liter gas cylinder will last for 15-20 hours.

The difference between gas generators of constant and variable type

A gas generator for an apartment or a house can become a constant source of current if you choose the right model. And to make the right choice, you need to know some subtleties:
