The construction of this castle was started in the XIII century. Initially, his architectural composition was gothic, but since that time the castle managed to change a lot of hosts, and at the same time was repeatedly subjected to both completion and redevelopment. From the moment of its foundation the castle even managed to change its name, because it was once called the castle of Frauenberg. During its history the castle in Hluboká nad Vltavou even managed to visit the monarch's property, it was Ferdinand I of Habsburg. Then the castle was subjected to the most significant restructuring. With the light hand of the monarch, he acquired a Renaissance style. In the reconstruction of the castle Hluboka took part many eminent Italian architects of those times. But the initial appearance of this majestic structure is familiar to us only from ancient drawings, as it acquired its present appearance only in the 17th century. At that time, the castle was taken over by the rich family of Schwarzenbergs, with them the castle turned into a model of neo-Gothic architecture. In this form you can see it today. During the Second World War (1945), this castle was taken away from the genus by the Czech government, it became public property. The former owners spent a fabulous amount, even by today's standards, for the development of a family estate. The walls of the rooms of the castle are decorated with a tree with an elaborate carving, expensive knightly armor is spread all over the place, old canvases written by eminent masters of painting are hung. By the way, the castle collection of canvases is considered to be the largest in the Czech Republic. A unique atmosphere provides a huge number of hunting trophies in the form of heads and horns of animals. A multitude of old-fashioned weapons are hung on the walls.
