False bouts
In later terms, the body itself begins to prepare for childbirth. The uterus periodically shrinks, becomes firm, and is accompanied by tingling and straining in the pubic area. Such sensations cause training fights, which are also called false, and they prepare the muscles of the uterus for the generic process. These bouts are usually irregular, do not increase in intensity and appear only periodically. They are normal and do not signal the need to go to the hospital. To be able to assess the regularity, it is necessary to note how long one battle and the interval between them lasts. To do this, you can use a stopwatch or a special simple program on the Internet, which is available to everyone.
The process of delivery always takes place in 3 stages:
- the first period - fights, which itself is divided into an early, active and transitional phase;
- the second period - attempts or expulsion of the fetus;
- the third period - the birth of the afterbirth (placenta or child's place).
First period of labor: early phase
The generic process begins with the sensation of the first regular fights. If the future mother understands that they occur with some periodicity, even if rarely enough, this indicates that the first period of labor has begun, or rather, its early, or latent phase. Usually it can last long enough. Its duration differs for every future mother and depends on many factors, but on average about 12 hours.
At this stage it is difficult to answer the question, what are the sensations, when the fights begin. The fact is that at this time they differ from false ones only by their regularity and increasing intensity and do not cause great discomfort. They accompany the opening of the cervix, which eventually should reach 10 cm, so that the child can be born normally.
Most often, the entire early phase of the parturient woman is carried out at home.
Sensations during labor clashes of the active phase
When the acceleration of labor begins, one can speak of the onset of the active phase of the first stage of labor. At this time, the baby descends lower along the birth canal, the opening of the cervix increases, and the sensation of pain during contractions increases. This is a normal natural process, which should not cause panic.
It is at this stage that the future mother should go to the hospital.
Contractions during labor: sensations of the transition phase
At the last stage of the first period of childbirth, the baby descends very low through the birth canal, the fights become more intense, reaching a duration of less than 5 minutes, with the interval between them reduced to a minute. The pain intensifies so that many complain of total loss of strength and fatigue. The mothers, answering the question of what kind of sensation they experienced during the fights, they say that this is comparable to the urge to defecate. This is explained by the fact that the baby exerts a lot of pressure on the rectum. This is a signal that very soon attempts will begin and a long-awaited child will be born.
