Holiday Easter - a story for children

All adults, to some extent know about why Christians celebrate Easter. But children, even grown up, do not always have such knowledge. To fill the gap in the spiritual education of the younger generation, it is necessary to tell the story of the Passover from an early age in a context that is understandable to children.

What is celebrated at Easter?

In order for the children to become clear and understand the story of the celebration of Easter, one should tell them that Jesus, about whom they probably already heard, was crucified for us, for our human sins, by envious persons. But in spite of everything, he rose again, and for this reason the day when we celebrate a bright holiday, and is called Sunday.

Very interesting for children is the history of the celebration of the Passover, where briefly it is necessary to tell how, after learning about the risen Jesus, Mary Magdalena came running to the then ruling Emperor Tiberius, giving him a chicken egg as a gift to communicate the glad tidings.

The woman exclaimed: "Jesus is risen!", To which the Emperor, having laughed, answered: "Rather, this egg will turn red, rather than this happen!". And then the egg got a bright red color. In surprise the ruler said: "Verily, He is risen!", And since then these two phrases have been greeted by each other's people on Easter, remembering the miracle of resurrection.

Traditions of Christians on Easter

In addition to the story of the Passover about the resurrection of Jesus, the traditions practiced by believing Christians will be instructive for children. The main one is a fast, during which 40 days people eat modest food, excluding meat, milk, eggs and fish. This is the longest and most difficult post of the year.

In addition to restrictions in the diet, believers ask God for forgiveness, repent, perform charitable deeds. And only after the service on the fortieth day, when the priest exclaims: "Christ is risen!" Is allowed to begin the meal.

After a long post, the tables for the holiday are bursting with all sorts of delicacies, including Easter cakes and eggs, which are customarily painted since the chicken egg blushed in the hands of the emperor.
