Koktebel - tourist attractions

To the west of Feodosia (Crimea) is a small cozy village of Koktebel. In this popular resort with wide and clean beaches, surprisingly beautiful landscapes formed the center of underwater, aeronautical tourism. In addition, Koktebel is a recognized winery center in Ukraine.

Historical past

This place was inhabited since antiquity. Scientists have finds dating from the times of Taurians and Cimmerians. The Genoese on their maps marked Koktebel as Poselim, that is, "The village near the saddle." Such fertile and well-located lands could not be of interest to other peoples, so the Scythians, Sarmatians, Goths, Greeks, Khazars, Turks also left their memory here. The environs of Koktebel are filled with sights, belonging to different epochs.

The modern name of the resort, while still a small village, was in the 13th century. Kok tepe Spruce, that is, the Edge of the Blue Peaks, was inhabited by Bulgarians in the middle of the 19th century, and the modern history of the settlement is connected with the name of the artist, writer and poet Maximilian Voloshin, who was fond of gliding. It was Klementyev's mountain in Koktebel that became the cradle of Soviet gliding. St. Petersburg intelligentsia, who chose these places, believed that the aura of Koktebel gives creative recharging.

Monuments of nature

Everyone who has a rest in this cozy corner of the Crimea will find what to see in Koktebel, because the amazing nature surrounds from all sides. What are the only landscapes of the Black Mountain - Kara-Dag! In the vicinity of this extinct ancient volcano, there are about 10 thousand unique plant species, hundreds of species of birds, insects and animals.
