Hose for mixer

Each bathroom has a shower, and in every kitchen there is a mixer and a sink. They need piping, that is, a hose. Hoses for mixers are of two types - flexible and rigid. Both are necessary to ensure the supply of water to the faucets and mixers. What is better to choose, what are their shortcomings and advantages - about this in our article.

Types of hoses for mixer

More often used flexible hoses for the mixer. They are ideal for any type of equipment that must be connected to water supply. Also with their help you can connect equipment that is at a certain distance.

With a flexible hose, you can connect faucets located anywhere - on the wall, the rack, the edge of the bathroom, the sink. Usually a flexible hose is already included in the mixer kit, only its length is not always sufficient, so you have to add separate hoses for mixers to your sizes.

Separately, I want to say about the retractable hose for the mixer. A mixer with a retractable watering can is a practical solution for a kitchen sink . If necessary, you can extend the hose with a mini shower from the tap and direct it to the desired object.

Rigid connection for mixers differs by rigid fixing of the mixer to the pipes. To install such mixers is easier, and the final design looks more attractive.

How to choose a hose for the mixer?

Buying a flexible hose for the mixer, pay attention to the type of braiding (steel, aluminum, galvanized) - it depends on the strength of the hose. The strongest hoses are able to withstand up to 10 atmospheres.

No less important material is the manufacture of fittings. They can be made of stainless steel, aluminum and brass. Preferably, of course, the latter option, especially if the brass is nickel plated.

When buying a mixer hose, look at the label to find out its composition and performance. Hold it in your hand - it should not be too easy. If it is so, that most likely the braid is made of aluminum, and the fittings are made of light and brittle metal.
